Patriotism

What is patriotism. According to most bulgarians it means beating your chest like a gorilla and ranting on about Bulgaria's "glorious" history and how the turks ruined it all. Bullshit! According to other people it means proudly showing your nationality and your concern for things in your homeland. Partly true. But actually patriotism means helping to improve your country and it's people's life. Being a neo-nazi is NOT patriotic - and anyway the notion of a bulgarian nazi is hitlarious (haha bad pun) as Hitler was planning of mass-murdering the slavs after the jews, gypsies, homos, etc.

Helping your country doesn't just mean being a big hero and radically reforming it. Imagine a house being built. If everyone places just ONE brick, but I mean everyone (!), then it will be successful. But sadly some people take bricks, stuff 'em in a sack and bugger off to build private mansions. As you obviously realized, unless you are a peabrain, this is a metaphor.
The point is, that if everyone does their little bit towards the greater good, then it is a realistic idea. But sadly the human being is weak, materialistic and selfish.
