The Problems of Bulgarian People (A few of them)

As a person who is bulgarian (well, half actually, my dad is scots) I am very proud of my nationality. But sometimes I want to curl up in shame from what some of my fellow countrymen do.

1) Treatment of animals - bulgarians are like the spanish in this case - they have absolutely no respect for animals. In the villages some kids' idea of fun is throwing cats off the third floor and then picking them up and repeating the exercise. Ok, the cat is not harmed PHYSICALLY. But even though it hasn't got such a complex brain (well actually compared to those kids it does) I'm sure it doesn't enjoy being flung off the balcony. Of course, this is just one case of many. The main problem is that the parents don't give a damn. They actually join in the "fun". If you ask me the just punishment would be to fling those people off the balcony repeatedly.

2) Sexism - most bulgarian men (of course there are exceptions) are thick-necked yobbos who count women as a household item with the status of a fork or such. This is not EUROPEAN. And we claim that we are in the EU 'cos we are "europeans". But actually we bulgarians are a lot of oriental backward buggers who have no concept of women's rights or real love.

3) Ignorance and Racism - I have grouped these together as they are nearly unimaginable without one another. Why does Racism occur? Because people are ignorant and do not know anything about a country, decide they "hate" it and it's people for pseudo-reasons cooked up in the backs of their brains. This is a major problem in Bulgaria.

4) Cheating - bulgarians start cheating from a young age. At school most of my classmates cheat at EVERY SINGLE TEST! They make cheat-sheets, write maths formulae on the desks so as to see them, write answers on their arms and legs. I'm sure this occurs in other countries as well. But here cheating is a national pastime with traditions. Parents not only ignore it, but actually encourage it. No comment.

These are just a few...... Sadly there are many more!
